This past week, I just started telling my team members and co-workers about getting an exciting new job at Yahoo!. Starting next month I will be the Rich Media Evangelist for Yahoo!. This is really a dream come true. I will spend my days researching new technology, advocating rich media solutions to various teams around the company, and organizing a community within the company that is interested in design and development in the rich media space. To me this is the equivalent of a 10 year-old being told that he is wanted as a toy tester

The evangelism is largely going to center around Flash as it is simply most ubiquitous and feature-rich solution on the market. However, as new technologies emerge, I will get to explore these alternate avenues as well.

I’m very sad to leave my current team, but am excited about the new possibilities. I may not get as much Mario Kart in with Trixie, chi chi, peanut and scotty McSott-Scott, but I will still harass them on a regular basis. The transition is already going smoothly so it looks like work on IMVironments continue on its merry way.
